Acne is a skin condition in which there is excess production of oil from the sebaceous glands leading to the blockage of hair follicles. It is the most common problem of adolescents.

youngsters between 12 to 24 years of age
• It causes
embarrassment, depression and lack of confidence
Symptoms to look for:
• Whiteheads
• Blackheads
• Pimples
• Red and itchy rashes
Causes:
The body is unable to
remove toxins through excretion leading
to contamination of the bloodstream.
This can be due to:

Constipation
o Irregular
bowel movement
o Irregular
meal timings
o Excess
starch, sugar, oil and fat consumption
Home Remedies:
1.
Garlic contains allicin,
which is a natural antibiotic. Take 2-3 garlic cloves.
2.
Crush them to make a
paste. Apply this paste on the affected parts of the skin. For sensitive skin,
mix yogurt in the garlic paste before applying.
3.
Consume three cloves of garlic everyday for 1 month.
4.
Take a handful of washed
coriander leaves. Crush them finely. Place the paste on a sieve and press to
extract the juice. Add a pinch of turmeric powder. Mix well. Apply this mixture
on the face every night.
5.
Prepare a paste by
mixing equal quantities of saffron, turmeric, margosa (neem), red
sandalwood, basil, and fuller’s earth with buttermilk or milk. Apply twice a
day.
6.
Prepare a powdered
mixture of coriander seeds, fennel, basil, turmeric, and Indian gooseberry (amla;
amalaki) in equal parts. Take ½ teaspoon of this powder 15 minutes before
lunch and dinner.
7.
Have 1 teaspoon of
powdered Indian gooseberry fruit (amla; amalaki) in morning and evening
with water.

Diet and Lifestyle:
Avoid spicy, oily,
bitter, and sour foods. Eat fresh, unprocessed food.
Increase the use of herbs that have cooling effects on the body like fennel, coriander seeds, Indian gooseberry (amla; amalaki), and aloe vera.
Increase intake of water to about 8-10 glasses per day, and take coconut water.
Wash your face frequently with mild herbal soaps.
Cleanse your face with lemon peels.
Consult your doctor if the symptoms persist.
